Eden Valley Divers is a small, friendly, dive club based at Abbott Lodge, Clifton, near Penrith, Cumbria. Our club is affiliated to the Scottish Sub-Aqua Club (ScotSAC).
If you are thinking of learning to dive, our main objectives are to provide a safe training schedule, as per ScotSAC's training procedure, where trainees can progress at their own speed.
We are passionate about teaching drysuit/cold water scuba diving to the highest standard! Locally we dive Crummock Water, Ullswater and Wastwater and then further afield progressing to sea dives.
For salt water and sea diving, we regularly visit Loch Long, Loch Fyne and the East Coast, with the Farne Islands and St Abbs being particular favourites.
However, the club also seeks out warm water diving holidays as can be seen from our gallery photos.
- Do I need to have my own equipment to start with?
No, we can lend you most of the gear when first joining the club. However, as you start progressing we would encourage you to have your own equipment as soon as possible, if you decide diving is for you.
- How does the training work and can I join the club anytime?
The best way to start is to come along and have a chat with one of our instructors, we can then go through everything with you on an informal bases.
- How much does it cost for me to join?
Before training begins you will have to join ScotSAC, more information on their membership fees can be found at www.scotsac.com. Their first years subscription is currently £75, which covers your training logbook. After the first year it's £55. You will also have to become members of Eden Valley Divers, and our subscription is currently £50 per year.
